Brexit: May under pressure over deal – BBC News

so it feels like Brexit is gone a bit
mad and there’s less than five months to
go and no one really knows where it all
might end up Theresa May said ministers
had signed off the deal for the UK to
leave the EU the collective decision of
cabinet was that the government should
agree the draft withdrawal agreement and
the outline political declaration but
the next morning it was a different
story
the brexit secretary Dominic Raab has
resigned the man in charge of the brexit
talks said he wasn’t up for that job
anymore because he didn’t believe in
what had been agreed I think she needs a
Brexit secretary that will pursue the
deal that she wants to put to the country
with conviction I don’t feel I can do
that in good conscience yep that was the
man who was supposed to be in charge of
brexit who’s walked away and he’s the
second one to quit that job not great
some more big names and some junior
ministers resigned as well Theresa May
had to go to Parliament to try to
convince MPs that the deal was the right
one and that they should back it once a
final deal is agreed I will bring it to
Parliament and I will ask MPs to
consider the national interest and give
it their backing, but getting MPs on board
is going to be the hardest part of this
process and at the moment it’s looking
like no-one from any party is happy with
it
the government must now withdraw this
half-baked deal which is clear does not
have the backing of the cabinet this
Parliament or the country as a whole and
it’s looking pretty rocky for the PM herself too
as what my right honourable friend
says and what my right honourable friend
does no longer match should I not write
to my right honourable friend the member
for Altrincham and Sale west
he means this guy Graham Brady who’s in
charge of conservative MPs in Parliament
they can write to him saying they want a
different leader and so guess what
happened next
no of course it isn’t it’s
using the proper procedures of the
Conservative Party what we need is a
leader who will say to the European
Union it is impossible to divide up the
United Kingdom 48 letters in total and
there has to be a vote on whether to
either mate should still be the one in
charge
I believe with every fiber of my being
that the course I have set out is the
right one for our country and all our
people am I going to see this through
yes but even if the Prime Minister stays
it’s not clear how any kind of brexit
deal let alone the one she’s pushing
could get enough support in Westminster
to make it out alive
you

  1. 29 march is Brexit time, it is set in stone and made very clear by the 27 nation states that form the EU. No matter a general election nor a change in leadership can change it unless article 50 is revoked.

  2. So let me get the straight, Brexit is a sh*t sandwich sold by lies and most likely with Putin's fingerprints on it!!! Knowing this, who is still trying to feed this sh*t sandwich to the people of Britain why are they doing it and why are the people willing to eat a sh*t sandwich?!?

  3. It's gonna be funny as fuck when May has to step down before even putting that deal to the EU. At this point you're not even looking funny anymore. This is like watching a guy with no legs and his guts hanging out trying to crawl to the hospital on his hands not wanting to realize he's dead but just hasn't stopped moving yet.

  4. The UK can't get a good deal. Everyone who understands geopolitics knew that since the referendum. It's either bad deal, no deal or remain. Those had always been the options since Cameron lost his mind with the referendum nonsense.

  5. No trusts a government and media that has lied and lied look at who is pulling the strings and it always comes back to the bankers follow the money and blackmailers . This is why there are so many peado MPs the media covers it up as long as they do as they are told .

  6. I can not, for the life of me, understand British hostility towards Europe. We fought two world wars to protect it. We receive many benefits from membership of the EU (consumer protection from high energy bills, cheap holidays to name a few) and these hardly ever get reported. Also, many British people have colonized parts of Spain that make a mockery out of the immigration debate that, for working class peoplex was the trigger for Cameron to call a Referendum wirh no planning as to what would happen if the country voted 'leave' which they did and he was not expexting. We, Britain.can not have it both ways, leave but wirh all the benefits of membership, that will never be permitted and quite rightly too. If only immigration had been better managed in the many years of freedom of movment then we would not be in this unthinkable position. Britain can not absorb the same amount of people as main land Europe can. Further, nobody should expect to come here ( or for a Brit to go there) and expect to receive benefits and free NHS access if you are not contributing to it. Bye bye, EU, I, for one, will miss you.

  7. Seems the only issue with this is that Ireland will have no hard border to Europe, the UK can finally write it's own laws, trade with the EU without sanctions or fees and decide who comes into the country.

There's nothing stopping US deciding our fate or who comes into the UK, that's the point of Brexit.

  8. It makes no sense at all. Why would you hand over power to an organisation that has no affiliation to the country. It's enslaving yourself and your people to the will of someone who has a conflict of interest being that your not the only country under its banner. Your relying on their ethics to be fair without relying on their patriotism or national interests. Britain needs to take the high rd an cultivate its own future.

  9. Our education system is to blame for all these entitled young EU loving cretins shouting about a peoples vote and to get another vote to stay in the EU because their careers and self important are more important than their own country and pride. What a bunch of pathetic losers.

  10. How ridiculous that these Politicians get in to cabinet in a few hours after others have resigned ,It just shows us all that the whole of this Government is a joke ,Made up of people who simply kiss arses ,With no experience in the jobs given .Even a labourer needs to apply for a job ,Pass tests then interviews .What a joke .

  11. What's the alternative deal? Leave and compete on WTO terms – That is the option your country has. Europe will be hurt if britain leaves but not as much as Britain (in the medium to short term at least). Europe has most of the cards, what deal were you expecting? – leave and get all of trade benefits but not have to abide by the rules like the 27 other countries, that is nonsense, it can't happen.

The alternative is….recession for 10 years at least, you might come out stronger but there is no gain without pain. Does your working class realise this? Did you bother to tell them that this is the price. Don't worry about Tory Brexiteers though, their nests are well feathered to ride out the recession. Can you?
You could align with America and be America's stooge maybe? You will be playing by their rules though.

Best of luck anyway, just leave NI behind you when you're going, it's not yours anyway.

  12. This will be a huge shock to the British if they have to eat, not the EU revolvs around England but England is revolving around the EU.

  13. Leila, you're really beautiful; I wish you could read bills to me, so you're gorgeous face and voice could perhaps soften the trauma of receiving bad news; as you've done so here in this video…you just make me feel like everything's going to be ok and I should just get on with my life and not worry so much. Cheers,

  14. Corporate Democracy at it's foulest…an epic level of deceit spewing from the 'Ruling Class' yet again, and this time the whole world can see the thin veneer of democracy stripped from the bones of the 'Mother Of All Parliaments'…a disgraceful and shameful betrayal of the British people and the concept of real democracy.

  15. I voted to remain….
But I'm all for a no deal brexit over Theresa's 'Deal'.
I swear the deal must have been put forward as a joke; and our PM is thick enough agree to it.
    Moron.

    "Goodbye sovereignty…
    Goodbye accountability…
    Goodbye democracy…
And at no point can the UK leave the EU without the consent of the EU…
Oh yes… where do I sign?"

    How can she be sincere?
It could be a cleverly orchestrated plan to deliver on a hard brexit with May as the scapegoat.
In which case : Bravo! Terrific performance.
I have to think that's what it is.

  16. Do No deal brexit. It is the best option. The U.K. had an excellent position and was totally squandered. Wtf!?!! Britain is the second biggest economy in the EU and May is acting like she lost a war and these are the terms. This is absolute incompetence. She is less than worthless. She has damaged her nation not improved it.

  17. May should be under pressure why she & successive Govmnts continue to coverup for Royal family & Westminster child grooming & child killing rings <<< DEATH PENALTY

  18. I was born in England, but currently I'm not living there. I thank my lucky stars I'm not there right now – what a bloody mess. The fact is most people would like a second referendum, but it seems like that's not possible. If it was, of course the vote would be to remain. And let's not kid ourselves no one really knew what the true ramifications of leaving the EU would be – that's plain to see right now. So, if we can't change our minds then just get the fuck on with it and let's get over it because it's just doing more damage pissing about like this. The Brexit Minister and others resigns and the pound plummets – awesome!! Frankly the other European countries don't want to help the UK because for whatever reason the truth is they don't like the UK much. It's a pity England did't leave them to have a united Europe back in the day under Hitler.

  19. definetly a load of bollocks they are just trying to fool brexiters into thinking they have already lost and will try to give them a false sense of hope with a slightly better deal they already had planned anyway that most would still kick off about but now the turd will look sugar coated, pure deception, it is not over until the fat lady sings.

  20. All the histrionics from both sides, and the media exploiting it for their own commercial gain and perpetuating is so stupid. Everyone caught in a whirlwind of doom. How on earth can May come up with anything that is going to to satisfy the country if they're split in 2…why can't people get that it's simple logic. I wish people from all sides would start behaving and stop making us look so stupid. This country with Or without Brexit still seems to be an amazing place with people from so many countries loving it and dreading returning….let's get some perspective…

  21. This deal is a betrayal of the British people.Treason May should step down while she still has some dignity.Nice that comments are enabled here.On cbc website in canada, they are too cowardly to do that generally.

  22. With a Hard Brexit the UK might not be able to trade freely. But they will be able to buy stocks, shares and Forex currencies in foreign countries that are members of the EU. The saying is, if you can't beat them at trading then you can Join them in trading. Buying large shares into European Union public limited companies might be almost the same as owning them. The Brexit problem is all about trade. The UK problem is only about employment. This means that everyone will have to be a stock broker and Forex trader to maintain wealth. They also have to produce more food for themselves.

  23. The fiber of theresa may being can be trace in uk royal history.. Just like donald trump leaving UN, her reason is the same.. That uk is the biggest contributor to EU. Very old conservative nationalist way of thinking.. Why not work it out instead of leaving, shes too old to think of the box. I realized this batches of world leader all over the world is very poor quality worst is REJECT.

  24. The government have been trying to sabotage Brexit right from the get go by acting incompetent and getting us as poor a deal as possible in the hope it'll make the people turn against the idea of brexit. The government have no respect for the people and basically want to control us to do as they wish.

  25. A no deal is what we need,
We can trade with America and the common wealth.
Which includes Canada, India , Australia, New Zealand and how many other nations ?

  26. Excuse me, but what do they expect? That they can keep the perks of being a EU Member State and leave the EU at the same time?

  27. Shes a filthy traitor. Brexiteers and Remainers must unite. Demand a no-deal Brexit. With this bad faith deal we loose our national sovereignty AND the perks of being in the EU while still having to pay tribute.
    This is unacceptable.

  28. In case anyone didn't notice ; the UK and the United States are being destroyed simultaneously.
Both have been primed with race and gender hate and are only waiting for the trigger event to happen.

  29. No prizes for guessing why Brexit is shambles from the onset. Could it be that the powers that be in Brussels run a pedo ring and had blackmailed Ted Heath into joining the the ECC. Equally, Could it be that the powers that be in Brussels et al are blackmailing PM Theresa May into doing a U-turn on Brexit. After all, they say, May’s father, a priest, had connections with a notorious pedophile, Warwick Spinks – Google ‘Warwick Spinks'. Moreover, could it be that these grooming gangs in the North of England are in the pockets of the Powers that be in Westminster, Brussels et al, which explains why they take as soft stance against them out of fear that the government will be exposed? Oh wait! Could it be that the PM has the best interest at heart? Oh sure, she is she preserving political stability ? Can you imagine the British establishment caught with their pants down -perish the thought?

  30. The only possible good that can be derived from this pathetic sellout deal (not even a deal, its a capitulation) to the EU mafia is that it will bring the down fall of May.

  31. The only man with balls enough to deal with the tough position of PM in the entire country would be Nigel F if anyone has been watching his performance at the EU meetings, THAT is the kind of dominant no holds barred straight talking person that should be running the country.

  32. You should leave the EU! you wanna bring in "Modern day Slaves" to take away jobs from your United Kingdom citizens!?
If you leave, Brexit will come up with another deal! They wanna sell their products in the United Kingdom! It's the only way to bring them to table to negotiate a new deal!!!

  33. They're quitting because they're crooks! The EU is lining their pockets with cash! Theresa is correct, Leave!!!
They will come back with a real deal!
They want to sell their products United Kingdom! They will come up with a better deal, they will also come to the renegotiate table! It's only way to get a better deal UK citizen!

  34. The only place I want to see traitor Sharia-za May dancing is….on the end of a rope! This treasonous hag should be hanged for HIGH TREASON!

  35. The UK without EU is like a hammer without a head. UK becomes severely less influential without EU. It has already lost the leverage it had due to emerging markets.

  36. Brexit was really only ever about protecting the financial centre of London from EU regulation, and so the EU loses the negotiations the very moment it signs an agreement allowing London to carrying on trading with it. All the EU has to do is to exclude London, and they'll get whatever terms they want. Simples! Britain isn't a proper democracy, the county is run exclusively for the benefit of the upper-class. The ruling upper-class are not entrepreneurs, they're completely dependent on London to grow their inherited wealth so that they can keep their position at the top of the wealth hierarchy, to maintain their control.

  37. FINE !!LET THEM ALL GO  !!THEY HAVE BEEN IN THE PAIN   !!!!DO THEY THINK ITS EASY PEASY   !!!WE SHOULD HAVE " LEFT"   THIS  "MADNESS"  YEARS AGO  !!ITS NOW BALLLING   FROM (U.K.).

  38. This is soooo amusing!!! Where are all those who started this?? Where are Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage? Where are all those idiots who voted "yes"?? I'm so glad this is happening

I was very Disappointed with him. Youtube Shere with newspaper or UK

  40. believes in her deal? THE ONLY THING SHE BELIEVES IN IS, The one world order. she never wanted to leave the EU, she has worked so hard to deliver her brain washing nazi deal that places the UK under the control of the one world order. WE do not want the EU ONE WORLD ORDER. TIME TO TAKE BACK CONTROL. Wake up and smell the coffee.

  41. Guys Boris seems confident that we can come out with or without a deal.
Someone on YT showed part of the EU rules where it states that if
another country puts pressure on another member to sign a treaty it
    becomes invalid!!

Well today I was searching a news report about the documents that Teresa
May lost relating to all the MPs that were involved in paedophilia.
What I discovered was that Edward Heath was a prolific paedophile and it
has been reported that he would actually kill the boys by throwing them
over the side of his boat. It has reported that some of the boys he
took on his boat never came back and were still missing. The Island of
Jersey was invaded by the NAZIs, which were into the Illumanti and
Knights Templar which have always used "honey pot" stings to control
assets. Ted Heath took us into the EU!!

Perhaps Boris Johnson, through President Trump have some proof that Ted Heath was blackmailed into signing joining the EU!

Bingo, our get out of jail free card. I am sure the EU…. I mean
Germany will want all this kept hush hush. Merkel is definitely
Illuminati and the same with Teresa May.

Possible? They have never mentioned how we will be coming out of the EU
and if this is true, I dont think we will ever be told the truth. It
seems that the British and European elites have a big issue with
paedophilia. Regina Loef nearly bought down the Belgium establishment.

Look at them all with their one seeing eye at the top of the pyramid.
